Performance. Luxury. Sedan. In that order.

Make no mistake about where Genesis' priorities lie. Its job is to move you in the physical sense first, and the emotional sense second. 2013 Genesis Award-winning V8 engine

The 2013 Genesis is available with a 5.0-litre high-performance Tau® V8 that generates 429 HP and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. This design features Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) for more power, increased fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Since its introduction in 2009, the Tau V8 engine family has been named to the prestigious Ward's Ten Best Engines list for multiple years.

2013 Genesis 8-speed automatic transmission

The 8-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® harnesses the power of both engines while providing higher fuel economy through an efficient gear ratio spread.

2013 Genesis The Genesis 5.0 R-Spec

For this model, we started with the award-winning 5.0-litre Tau® V8, then added a larger front stabilizer bar and 19-inch premium machined finish alloy wheels. Distinctive headlights with dark chrome inserts plus R-Spec badging on the exterior of the vehicle and the floor mats complete the design.

2012_Genesis High-output 3.8L V6

With 333hp on tap, the Genesis 3.8 litre V6 offers plenty of power. Once again, the latest engine technology including: Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), Variable Induction, Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) are at the heart of this engine's ability to generate smooth, efficient acceleration.

Cutting-edge Suspension for Handling and Control.

The Genesis features cutting-edge suspension and steering hardware - the most critical components of a world-class performance sedan. This suspension system features an independent five-link design and gas-charged hydraulic shock absorbers to optimize road surface contact and improve body/wheel control, without compromising handling.

An ultra-high-strength unibody, eight airbags1 and a full complement of advanced technology safety features help keep you secure on the road. This comprehensive approach to your safety has earned the 2013 Genesis a 'Top Safety Pick' award from the U.S based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

2013 Genesis Lane Departure Warning System

When vehicle speed exceeds 70 km/h, this available sophisticated driver assistance technology monitors the position of the vehicle in the lane. If the system detects movement out of the lane without use of a turn signal, a warning light and chime are activated enabling the driver to reposition the car.

2013 Genesis Smart Cruise Control

This available feature removes much of the frustration when a car moves into your lane in front of you, forcing you to change your cruise control settings. When Smart Cruise Control is engaged, the driver can select a distance to be maintained from the vehicle in front. A radar sensor is located in the front bumper to judge the distance of cars ahead. When it detects a vehicle, it automatically slows the Genesis down, then maintains speed to return to the pre-set distance between vehicles.

2013 Genesis Advanced active safety

These safety systems monitor key dynamic inputs every millisecond you drive to help you avoid problems. Every Genesis is equipped with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.

2013 Genesis Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC uses sensors to measure the difference between a driver's intended path and the actual position of the car. When a turn is more or less than intended, ESC applies appropriate braking to help the driver gain control. ESC also includes Traction Control System2 (TCS), which helps to reduce wheelspin during acceleration for maximum traction.

2013 Genesis Electronic active front head restraints

In the event of a rear-end collision, the head restraints move forward in an instant to help provide extra protection against whiplash injuries.

2013 Genesis Adaptive Front Lighting System

This available system adjusts the path of the headlights to match the turning angle and direction of the vehicle for optimized illumination during turns.

2013 Genesis Airbags 8 Standard Airbags

The Genesis is equipped with eight airbags1 - front dual advanced, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, two roof-mounted side-curtain airbags and two rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags.

Ultrasonic Sensors

The Genesis is also optionally equipped with eight ultrasonic sensors located on the front and rear bumpers. Accompanied by an audible warning tone, this feature increases safety when maneuvering into tight parking spots (standard with 3.8L Premium Package, 3.8L Technology Package and 5.0L R-Spec).

The Supplemental Restraint (Airbag) System (SRS) is designed to work with the three-point seatbelt system. The SRS deploys in certain frontal and/or side-impact conditions where significant injury is likely. The SRS is not a substitute for seatbelts, which should be worn at all times. Children under the age of 13 should be restrained securely in the rear seat. NEVER place a child seat in the front seat of a Hyundai vehicle.
Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS) are meant to enhance conscientious driving habits and are not a substitute for safe driving practices.
